This Interclub competition is extended to all Amateur Figure Skaters in Region IV who are members with Skate Canada. This is a Skate Canada Sanctioned event. The Seaway Valley Interclub will be conducted in accordance with the regulations set forth in the current Skate Canada Rule book, except where otherwise specified.
Royal Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxillary Breakfast
The Royal Canadian Legion – Ladies’ Auxillary will be providing an inexpensive, hot breakfast, on both mornings of the Competition, to anyone who is interested. The Legion is only one block from the Arena (walking distance), so you don’t have to worry about losing your parking space. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday until approximately 11:00 a.m., both days. A take-out service will be provided for those who require it. |

Late entries may be accepted only at the discretion of the Competition Committee and the Tech Rep at an additional late fee of $20.00 per skater payable prior to acceptance of such entries.

CLUB ENTRY FEE

ICE SURFACE: The ice surface is 185 feet by 85 feet.
PARTICIPANT FEES:

$ 30.00 – Pairs Events (Similar Pairs, Shadow Dance & Shadow Skills)

PAYMENT DETAILS:
- Clubs must pay for all skater registrations and the club entry fee with ONE club cheque made payable to:

- A $20.00 fee will be charged for all N.S.F. or returned cheques.
- All application forms and Club Cheques must be received: BY NO LATER THAN Friday, January 21, 2011
- A $50.00 penalty will be charged for late or incomplete Club Packages.

- Please use Priority Post or Courier mail service. (DO NOT USE REGULAR MAIL SERVICE)
- Entries will not be accepted by facsimile, telephone or by e-mail.
- All entry forms (per club) must be submitted together.
TEST AND AGE REQUIREMENTS
- Test (Badge) and age qualifications for all events will be as of January 1, 2011.
- Proof of age must be included on the skater’s entry form for Create-A-Solo Events.
QUALIFICATION/RESTRICTIONS
- Skaters are eligible to skate at their respective level or may skate up one level but may not skate at both levels.
- Entries will be taken on a 1st come 1st served basis. The Committee reserves the right to apply restrictions on numbers, if required.
REFUND OF ENTRY FEES AND WITHDRAWALS
If a skater withdraws before the deadline of January 21, 2011 a full refund will be given as per Skate Canada Event Management Handbook. If a skater withdraws after the deadline, with a medical certificate, a refund less a $20 administration fee will be issued.
SCHEDULING
- Competitors shall commence skating within two (2) minutes of their name being called. Otherwise, they shall be marked as “not skated”.
- Flights for each event will be determined by age, if possible.
- A final schedule will be posted on the Perth Figure Skating Club website at: www.perthfigureskatingclub.com on approximately February 19, 2011.
- Please ensure that skaters, parents and coaches are made aware of the time of the events.
- Consideration will be given to skaters participating in more than one event but please note the possibility of conflicts resulting from competitors skating in back-to-back programs.
- An attempt will be made to schedule CanSkate Events on one day and STARSkate Events on another day. However, this cannot be guaranteed and will be dependent on the availability of Officials and sufficient time to accommodate Entries.
REGISTRATION
- Registration will be held Saturday, February 26th, 2011, beginning at 7:30 AM, at the Perth Arena.
- All participants must be at the arena one (1) hour before the scheduled time of their event. For skaters in the 1st event of the day, they must be ready 30 minutes before the posted time of the event.
MUSIC (COACHES/DESIGNATES PLEASE NOTE)
- Each skater must have two (2) copies of their music, one “master” and one "copy", both on CD. CDs must be clearly labeled with the skater’s name and home club. Please submit music at the time of registration. The Perth Figure Skating Club will not be held responsible for music that is not compatible with our equipment.
- Please remember to pick up your music after the event.
CANCELLATION OF EVENTS
Events with less than two (2) skaters will be cancelled - if only 2 skaters are registered and 1 person is unable to skate the day of the competition - the skater who withdraws must provide a medical certificate in order to receive a refund and the other skater will receive a refund or will have the option to skate up one level, if possible, or perform an exhibition skate. If, prior to the competition, only one (1) entrant is registered, the event will be cancelled and a full refund will be given.
AWARDS
- Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and a ribbon will be awarded to 4th place winners of each flight. See Skate Canada Event Management Handbook 7000 B1.13. No medal shall be awarded unless there are two or more competitors per event or category.
- Highest Number of Points - A trophy will be presented to the club with the highest number of points accumulated at the Seaway Valley Recreational Interclub 2011. That club will hold the trophy for one year.
MARKING & RESULTS
A closed marking system will be used.
Results will be determined by One by One System (OBO)
Result sheets will not be available for sale.

Publication of results will not include ordinals awarded by each judge as per the Skate Canada Event Management Handbook.

Organizers of this Competition undertake no responsibility nor are they liable for damage or injuries suffered by skaters. As a condition of and in consideration of the acceptance of their entries, competitors and their parents and/or guardians thereby agree to assume all risks of injury to the competitor’s person and/or damage to the competitor’s property, and release all persons in any way connected with the management and/or conduct of this competition from any and all liability in connection therein.
A First Aid Kit will be available on-site.
COACHES/DESIGNATES
All coaches will be required to show their Skate Canada ID & Photo ID at the Coaches’ Registration Table. All designates will be required to register at the Coaches’ Registration Table. The ID must be worn at all times during the Competition. Only coaches and/or designates wearing their ID will be permitted along the boards.
RESPONSIBILITY OF PARTICIPATING CLUBS
Please ensure that all applications are complete, legible and accurate. The attached application forms may be reproduced. Please use a SEPARATE application form FOR EACH SKATER. Please ensure that each Professional Coach and Competition Chair receives a copy of this announcement.
CODE OF CONDUCT
1. There shall be no possession or use of any drug, excluding prescription medication.
2. Skaters shall not possess or use alcohol of any form, or have alcohol within the immediate area of the arena or ice surface. Furthermore, skaters shall not supply substances to others.
3. Any damage to property shall be assessed to the person(s) causing willful damage.
4. Athletes shall conduct themselves at all times in a reasonable and acceptable manner.
CAMERA & VIDEO POLICY:
- Individuals are permitted to use cameras or video cameras at an event for personal use ONLY. The camera’s lens must not be larger than 200mm.
- STRICTLY PROHIBITED:
- Videotaping of complete events
- Flash photography
- Any resale of photography or videos by ticket holders
MEDIA POLICY:
- Individuals wishing to obtain appropriate accreditation should contact: Wendy Martin – wmartin@terridar.com At least two (2) weeks prior to the event
- Individuals will need prior approval to attend and photograph skaters at Section Partnered events. Individuals will be given access to the boards near the skaters’ entry to the ice. Accredited individuals will not interfere with coach/skater communications during warm-up periods. Pictures of skater and/or coaches will not be allowed prior to or after the performance. Any written complaints of interference will result in the loss of accreditation for future events.
- The following is a guideline for approving accreditation:
- Individuals from News media must submit appropriate accreditation for review.
- An individual representing skating club parent must submit written permission from these parents with request
- Pictures of skaters will not be made available for sale.
ADMISSION
Admission is free.
DRESSING ROOM REGULATIONS
1. Only one parent/guardian per skater is allowed in the dressing rooms (female parents/guardian in female dressing rooms and male parent/guardian in male dressing rooms).
2. Dressing rooms are unsupervised and parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child(ren).
3. Perth Figure Skating Club is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged belongings.
